These Grilled Cheeseburger Sliders are the absolute best and easy appetizer for game day! They are also a quick EASY weekday meal, AND you can make them ahead of time (they reheat really well, so they’re perfect for meal prep or gatherings).
In a skillet, start by caramelizing your onions with a stick of butter. Once they’re caramelized, add green chilis and then brown your ground meat. Season your ground meat generously with the BBQUE TEXAS OG + SP Brisket & Beef Seasoning. Add Worcestershire sauce and chopped pickles to your ground beef and mix it all together well.
Cut your Hawaiian rolls horizontally down the middle so you have two halves. Then spread some mayonnaise generously on them and then toast them on both sides in a pan until they’re a nice golden brown.
Take a baking sheet and place half of your slider rolls down as the bottom half. Then you’ll add your beef mixture onto the bottom half of your sliders and then top them you’re your sliced cheese. Add the other half of your rolls as bun tops, pressing down on them gently.
Bake them at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted.
While the sliders are baking, mix up some burger sauce for dipping them in afterwards. To make the burger sauce, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, Worcestershire sauce and our BBQUE TEXAS Holy Grail Seasoning (this sneaky secret ingredient adds so much extra flavor!).
You’re now ready to dip them and dig in!
Pro tip:We flip the buns inside out because it makes them look even more appetizing and super toasty! Also, be sure and remove the excess fat and liquid release from the beef mixture so you don’t end up with soggy buns. Bake them uncovered so they don’t sweat or become soggy.
