Award-Winning Texas Chili with a Kick
Equipment
- 1 5-Quart Pot
- 1 Meat Chopper
Ingredients
- 1 lb 80/20 Ground Beef
- 1 lb Country Sausage (We love the Old Folks brand)
- 8 oz Can of Tomato Sauce
- 8-10 oz Beef Broth
- 8-10 oz Chicken Broth
- 10 Tbsp Texas Red Chili Mix
- 1/4 Tsp Cayanne Pepper Optional for Extra Heat
- 1 Tbsp OG+SP Beef Seasoning
Instructions
- Start with a lb each of country sausage and ground beef and form the meat into 8 hearty meatballs.
- Generously season the meatballs with OG Beef Seasoning.
- Brown the meatballs in the pot on a medium heat. While they're browning, break them up with a meat chopper to create a chunky, hearty texture.
- Next, stir in one can of tomato sauce, 8 ounces of beef and 8 ounces of chicken broth.
- Add 6 tablespoons of BBQUE TEXAS Texas Red Chili Mix.
- Simmer on low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Add 4 tablespoons of BBQUE TEXAS Texas Red Chili Mix (add more broth as needed for desired consistency).
- For extra heat, add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (or even more, to taste).
- Simmer for 30 more minutes, stirring occasionally.
- That's it! You’vejust made a bold, flavorful award-winning chili that’s as easy as it is delicious. You're ready to serve this up! This makes approximately 4 bowls of chili.
